Ingredients

  • 2 sticks oleo (soft at room temperature)
  • 1/2 cup Crisco
  • 3 cups sugar
  • 1 teaspoon butter and vanilla flavoring
  • 6 eggs
  • 3 cups cake flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 cup milk

Instructions

  1. Combine the cake flour, salt, and baking powder in a bowl.
  2. Cream oleo, Crisco, and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add butter and vanilla flavoring to the creamed mixture.
  4. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the mixture, alternating with the milk, beginning and ending with the dry ingredients.
  6. Pour the batter into a greased and floured angel food cake pan.
  7. Place the pan in a cold oven in the center position.
  8. Turn on the oven and bake at 350°F for 1 to 1 1/2 hours, until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
