Ingredients

  • 1/4 c. butter
  • 1/4 c. flour
  • 2 onions, sliced
  • 1 green pepper, sliced
  • 1/2 c. chopped celery
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 1 bay leaf
  • pinch of oregano
  • 1 tsp. chili powder
  • 1 Tbsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. Worcestershire
  • 1/2 tsp. Tabasco
  • 1 (6 oz.) tomato paste
  • 3 c. water
  • 2 lb. cooked shrimp

Instructions

  1. Saute flour until golden; add green pepper, celery and garlic; saute until tender.
  2. Add seasonings, tomato paste and water.
  3. Cook stirring until thick.
  4. Cover and cook 30 minutes.
  5. Add shrimp before serving, enough to heat.
  6. Serve over rice.
