Ingredients

  • 1 quart elderberries
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 3 tablespoons vinegar
  • 4 tablespoons flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon cloves
  • pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Prepare a two-crust pie pastry.
  2. Mix elderberries, sugar, vinegar, flour, cinnamon, cloves, and a pinch of salt together until well combined.
  3. Place the prepared filling into the pie crust.
  4. Bake at 450°F until the crust is golden brown.
  5. Reduce the oven temperature to 350°F and continue baking until the filling bubbles.
