- Mix together the shortening, sugar, and 1 cup boiling water, then allow to cool.
- When cooled, add 1 cup cold water and beaten eggs.
- Dissolve dry yeast in 1/4 cup lukewarm water and add to the mixture.
- Stir in 6 to 8 cups of flour and mix well to form a dough.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl and let it rise until doubled in size.
- Work the dough down and shape into rolls.
- Place the rolls on a baking sheet and let rise again until puffed up.
