Ingredients

  • 1 pkg dry yeast
  • 3 cups warm water
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup butter or oleo melted and cooled
  • 8 cups flour

Instructions

  1. Dissolve yeast in warm water.
  2. Add sugar and stir until dissolved.
  3. Add beaten eggs, salt, and melted cooled butter.
  4. Gradually add sifted flour to form a sticky dough.
  5. Turn dough onto a floured surface and knead, adding more flour until not sticky.
  6. Place in a large crock or container and let rise for 5 hours.
  7. Divide the risen dough into 3 parts and add just enough flour to permit rolling.
  8. Roll out each part into rectangles and brush with melted butter, then sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar.
  9. Cut each rectangle into 1 1/4 inch thick slices and place in well-greased pans.
  10. Do not cover the pans.
  11. Let sit for 8 hours or overnight to rise again.
  12. Bake at 350°F for 20 minutes.
  13. Remove from oven and frost the rolls.
  14. Can be frozen for later use.
