Ingredients

  • 12 slices white bread
  • 3/4 lb Cheddar or sharp cheese
  • 2 (10 oz.) packages frozen broccoli
  • 2 cups sliced cooked ham
  • 10 eggs, slightly beaten
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 2 Tbsp minced onions
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp dry mustard

Instructions

  1. Cut circles (donut shape) from bread slices using a large glass and a shot glass for the holes; save the scraps.
  2. Place bread scraps in the bottom of a 13 x 9-inch baking dish.
  3. Layer sliced cheese over the bread scraps, followed by ham and broccoli.
  4. Arrange bread circles over the layered ingredients, filling in outer spaces with the holes.
  5. In a bowl, combine the beaten eggs, milk, minced onions, salt, and dry mustard.
  6. Pour the egg mixture evenly over the assembled bread, cheese, ham, and broccoli layers.
  7. Cover the dish and refrigerate overnight or at least six hours.
  8. Bake at 325°F (160°C) for 55 minutes until golden and set.
