Ingredients

  • 1 1/4 cups flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup milk

Instructions

  1. Beat the egg and milk together until well combined.
  2. In a bowl, mix flour, salt, and baking powder.
  3. Add the egg mixture to the dry ingredients and stir until the mixture is gooey.
  4. Drop spoonfuls of the batter on top of the completely cooked boiled chicken in an 8-quart pan.
  5. Ensure the broth barely covers the chicken.
  6. Gently boil the dumplings and chicken for 5 minutes.
  7. Cover the pan with a lid and steam for an additional 5 minutes.
  8. Serve hot, optionally topped with gravy made from chicken broth.
