Ingredients

  • 2 oz. semi-sweet chocolate
  • 3/4 cup butter or margarine
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 2 Tbsp. milk
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 5 oz. semi-sweet chocolate
  • 1 Tbsp. shortening

Instructions

  1. In a heavy small saucepan, heat 2 squares of semi-sweet chocolate over low heat until melted, stirring constantly.
  2. Remove from heat and cool.
  3. In a large mixer bowl, beat butter or margarine until softened.
  4. Add sugar and beat until fluffy.
  5. Add milk, vanilla, and cooled, melted chocolate. Beat well.
  6. Add flour and beat until well mixed.
  7. Using about 1 tablespoon of dough for each, shape into a 2 x 1/2-inch log.
  8. Curve slightly to form a crescent shape.
  9. Place on an ungreased cookie sheet.
  10. Bake in a 325°F oven about 18 minutes or until done.
  11. Remove and cool.
