Ingredients

  • 1 box chocolate cake mix
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 Tbsp butter
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla
  • dash of salt
  • 2 Tbsp water
  • 2/3 cup semi-sweet chocolate morsels
  • 2/3 cup pecans
  • 48 pecan halves

Instructions

  1. Combine and mix the chocolate cake mix, eggs, butter, vanilla, and salt in a bowl.
  2. Add water and blend well.
  3. Fold in 2/3 cup chocolate morsels and 2/3 cup pecans.
  4. Cover and refrigerate for 1 to 2 hours.
  5. Form the chilled mixture into 1-inch balls.
  6. Place 2 inches apart on a greased baking sheet.
  7. Lightly flatten each ball with a damp fork in a crisscross pattern.
  8. Bake in a preheated 375°F oven for 8 to 10 minutes.
  9. Cool to room temperature.
  10. After cookies are baked and cooled, top with pecan halves if desired.
