Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1 cup softened butter
  • 1 cup (8 oz.) sour cream
  • 2 eggs
  • 6 oz. can frozen orange juice, divided
  • 4 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, cream sugar and softened butter until fluffy.
  2. Add sour cream and eggs; beat until well blended.
  3. Remove 1 tablespoon of orange juice from the can.
  4. Add remaining orange juice and dry ingredients to the creamed mixture; mix well.
  5. Stir in orange peel.
  6. Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls onto a lightly greased cookie sheet.
  7. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for about 9 to 10 minutes or until edges just begin to brown.
  8. Cool the cookies and ice with an orange frosting.
