Ingredients

  • 1 lb. butter
  • 2 2/3 cups sugar
  • 3 1/2 cups sifted all-purpose flour
  • 8 eggs
  • 8 Tbsp. coffee cream
  • 1 tsp. vanilla

Instructions

  1. Separate the eggs.
  2. Whip the egg whites and add 6 level tablespoons of sugar, then refrigerate until the rest of the cake is mixed.
  3. Cream the butter and remaining sugar, beating until very light.
  4. Add egg yolks two at a time, beating well after each addition.
  5. Add flour and cream alternately, beating until the mixture is light.
  6. Add vanilla.
  7. Fold in the whipped egg whites.
  8. Pour batter into a greased and floured tube pan.
  9. Bake at 300°F for about 1 hour and 25 minutes or until done.
