Ingredients

  • 2 c. flour
  • 1/4 c. sugar
  • 3 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1/4 c. oil
  • 3/4 c. milk
  • 1 egg

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, stir together flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and nutmeg.
  2. Add oil, milk, and egg to the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
  3. Heat oil in a deep skillet or fryer over medium heat until hot.
  4. Drop teaspoonfuls of batter into the hot oil.
  5. Fry the donuts for about 3 minutes, turning occasionally, until golden brown.
  6. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
