Ingredients

  • 1/2 lb. butter
  • 1/2 lb. sugar
  • 6 eggs
  • 1/2 lb. flour
  • 1/4 lb. currants
  • 1/4 lb. raisins
  • 1/4 lb. sultanas
  • 2 oz. candied citrus peel
  • 3 oz. almonds
  • orange rind

Instructions

  1. Cream butter and sugar together in a bowl.
  2. Beat in 1 egg at a time.
  3. Gradually stir in flour, fruits and orange rind.
  4. Pour into a tube pan lined with buttered paper (or baking paper).
  5. Flatten top and decorate with almonds.
  6. Bake in moderate oven until done in center.
