Ingredients

  • 1 egg
  • 2/3 cup milk
  • 1 1/3 cups flour
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon cornstarch
  • 1/8 teaspoon cinnamon
  • oil for deep frying
  • confectioners sugar

Instructions

  1. Blend egg and milk in a bowl; add the dry ingredients and mix well.
  2. Heat 1 1/2 inches of oil to 375°F in a skillet.
  3. Pour batter into a funnel with a 1/2-inch spout; drizzle batter into hot oil in 6-inch spirals.
  4. Deep fry for 1 1/2 minutes or until golden brown on both sides.
  5. Remove from oil and sprinkle with confectioners sugar.
