Ingredients

  • 2 lb. lean chuck steak, cubed
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1 bunch carrots, sliced into coins
  • 4 medium potatoes, peeled and cubed
  • 1 can sweet peas
  • 2 cans tomatoes
  • 1/4 cup quick cooking tapioca
  • 4 whole cloves
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 275°F (135°C).
  2. Put all ingredients into a Dutch oven or covered casserole dish.
  3. Stir until well mixed.
  4. Cover and bake for 4 hours.
  5. Do not disturb until the 4 hours are up.
