  3. Pour the liquid through a strainer into a 6-quart saucepan.
  4. Bring the liquid to a boil.
  5. Add dumplings to the boiling liquid and return to a boil.
  6. Reduce heat to simmer and cook for at least 30 minutes, stirring gently often.
