Easy Caramel Bars

Sweet and gooey caramel bars with cinnamon, nuts, and tender bread dough, perfect for a comforting dessert or snack everyone will enjoy.

Ingredients

  • 2 loaves frozen bread dough
  • 1/2 cup margarine or butter
  • 1 large or 2 small pkg. vanilla pudding mix
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup walnuts, chopped (optional)

Instructions

  1. Thaw the bread dough but do not let it rise.
  2. Grease a 13 x 9-inch baking pan.
  3. Tear one loaf of dough into pieces and place in the prepared pan.
  4. Mix melted margarine or butter, brown sugar, pudding mix, milk, and cinnamon together.
  5. Pour the mixture over the dough in the pan.
  6. Sprinkle chopped walnuts over the top, if using.
  7. Tear the second loaf of dough into pieces and place them on top of the filling.
  8. Let the assembled dough rise at room temperature for 2 1/2 hours.
  9. Bake in a preheated 350°F (175°C) oven for 30 minutes.
