Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup margarine or butter
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup peanut butter
  • 2 cups quick oats

Instructions

  1. Melt margarine or butter in a heavy 1 1/2-quart saucepan.
  2. Stir in sugar, salt, cocoa, and milk; bring to a boil exactly 2 minutes.
  3. Remove from heat and stir in peanut butter, then oats.
  4. Mix thoroughly and drop by rounded teaspoonfuls onto waxed paper.
  5. Cool and then chill.
  6. Store airtight.
