Ingredients

  • 2 pkg. active dry yeast
  • 2 c. warm water (105~ to 115~)
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1/4 c. Mazola corn oil
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 4 tsp. salt
  • 6 1/2 to 7 c. Gold Medal flour (plain)

Instructions

  1. Dissolve yeast in warm water in a large bowl.
  2. Stir in sugar, corn oil, beaten egg, salt, and 3 cups of the flour.
  3. Beat until smooth.
  4. Stir in enough remaining flour to make dough easy to handle.
  5. Place dough in a greased bowl, then turn greased side up.
  6. Cover and refrigerate at least 2 hours or until ready to use.
  7. Dough can be kept up to 4 days in refrigerator at 45°F or below; keep covered.
