Ingredients

  • 30 to 40 saltine crackers
  • 2 sticks margarine
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 12 ounces semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup chopped pecans

Instructions

  1. Line a jelly roll pan with aluminum foil.
  2. Arrange saltine crackers in a single layer until the pan is full.
  3. Combine brown sugar and margarine in a microwave-safe bowl and microwave for 4 minutes on high.
  4. Stir thoroughly and pour the caramel mixture over the crackers.
  5. Bake at 350°F for 20 minutes.
  6. Remove from oven and immediately sprinkle the chocolate chips over the hot toffee.
  7. Let the chocolate melt, then spread it evenly with a spatula.
  8. Sprinkle chopped pecans over the melted chocolate.
  9. Chill in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.
  10. Break into small bite-sized pieces before serving.
