Ingredients

  • 2 pkg. dry yeast
  • 4 c. warm water
  • 1 1/2 c. powdered milk
  • 1/4 c. sugar
  • 1/4 c. shortening
  • 2 Tbsp. salt
  • 12 c. flour

Instructions

  1. Combine warm water with yeast until dissolved.
  2. Add melted shortening to the yeast mixture.
  3. Mix flour, powdered milk, sugar, and salt in a large bowl.
  4. Gradually add the water and shortening mixture to the dry ingredients, stirring to combine.
  5. Knead the dough in the mixing bowl for 5 minutes.
  6. Allow the dough to rise until doubled in size, then punch down.
  7. Divide the dough into three portions and place in bread pans.
  8. Let the dough rise in the pans until doubled in size.
  9. Bake at 425°F for 35 minutes.
