A comforting shepherd's pie layered with seasoned ground meat, vegetables, and creamy mashed potatoes, perfect for family dinners and hearty occasions.

Ingredients

  • 2 c. bread crumbs
  • 4 c. mashed potatoes
  • 3 c. ground beef or pork
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1/2 c. milk or beef stock
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 3/4 c. diced, cooked carrots
  • 1 tsp. salt

Instructions

  1. Line a baking dish with half of the mashed potatoes that has been sprayed with oil.
  2. Mix the ground beef or pork, chopped onion, milk or beef stock, and beaten egg together.
  3. Spread the meat mixture on top of the first layer of mashed potatoes.
  4. Cover with the remaining mashed potatoes.
  5. Bake in a 300°F (150°C) oven until light brown and the meat is cooked through.
