Excellent Chocolate Cake

Ingredients

  • 2 sticks butter
  • 1 c. water
  • 4 heaping tsp. cocoa
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 2 c. flour
  • 2 eggs
  • 8 oz. sour cream
  • 1 tsp. baking soda, dissolved in small amount water

Instructions

  1. In medium size pot, put butter, water and cocoa.
  2. Bring to boil, stirring constantly.
  3. Boil 2 to 3 minutes.
  4. Turn off heat. Add flour and sugar, stir until well mixed.
  5. Pour into greased pan (13 x 9 x 2-inch).
  6. Bake at 350° for 33 to 35 minutes.
  7. After removing cake from oven, frost immediately with Excellent Chocolate Frosting.
