Ingredients

  • 1 roast
  • 2 c. water
  • 4 tsp. vinegar
  • 1 c. ketchup
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 chopped onion
  • 2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp. pepper

Instructions

  1. Boil the roast in water, simmering and covered, for 3 hours.
  2. Remove the roast from water, cool, and slice into rounds.
  3. Mix together water, vinegar, ketchup, salt, chopped onion, Worcestershire sauce, and pepper.
  4. Bring the mixture to a boil only, then pour over the sliced roast.
  5. Bake, covered, at 300°F for 30 minutes.
  6. Allow to cool if desired, then serve. The dish can be frozen after baking and reheated as needed.
