- Boil the roast in water, simmering and covered, for 3 hours.
- Remove the roast from water, cool, and slice into rounds.
- Mix together water, vinegar, ketchup, salt, chopped onion, Worcestershire sauce, and pepper.
- Bring the mixture to a boil only, then pour over the sliced roast.
- Bake, covered, at 300°F for 30 minutes.
- Allow to cool if desired, then serve. The dish can be frozen after baking and reheated as needed.
