Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup corn syrup
  • 1 egg
  • 2 1/4 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

Instructions

  1. Mix sugar, butter, corn syrup, egg, and vanilla until well combined.
  2. Take half the dough and pat it into the bottom of a prepared pan.
  3. Spread the fig filling evenly over the dough layer.
  4. Take small pieces of the remaining dough and pat them over the top of the filling.
  5. Bake in a preheated oven until golden brown.
  6. Allow to cool, then cut into strips or squares.
