A vibrant and flavorful broccoli salad with crispy bacon, sweet raisins, crunchy sunflower seeds, and a tangy mayonnaise dressing, perfect for gatherings and potlucks.

Ingredients

  • 1 bunch broccoli, chopped
  • 1 medium purple onion, chopped
  • 8 to 12 strips bacon, cooked crisp and crumbled
  • 1/4 to 1/2 cup sunflower seeds
  • 1/2 to 1 cup raisins
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon wine vinegar

Instructions

  1. Mix chopped broccoli and onion together and set aside in the refrigerator.
  2. Mix mayonnaise, sugar, and vinegar together and set aside.
  3. Cook bacon until crisp, crumble, and set aside.
  4. One hour before serving, stir in bacon, sunflower seeds, and raisins into the broccoli mixture.
  5. Add mayonnaise mixture to the salad and mix well.
  6. Refrigerate the salad.
  7. Right before serving, stir in 1 cup grated mild or medium Cheddar cheese.
