Ingredients

  • 3 large baking potatoes
  • 4 to 5 slices bacon, crisp and crumbled
  • 1 large onion, thinly sliced
  • 1/4 lb. American cheese, cubed
  • 1/4 lb. oleo
  • salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Slice peeled potatoes into large pieces of foil or place in a baking dish with a lid.
  2. Sprinkle the potatoes with salt and pepper.
  3. Add crumbled bacon, cubed American cheese, thinly sliced onion, and dabs of oleo over the potatoes.
  4. Seal the foil or cover the dish with a lid with a double fold to secure.
  5. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 1 hour.
  6. Serve hot, yielding 4 to 5 servings.
