Foolproof Angel Food Cake

- Preheat oven to 325°F (163°C).
- Combine 1 1/2 cups sifted cake flour and 1/2 teaspoon salt.
- Sift together the flour mixture four times and set aside.
- Sift 1 cup sugar four times and set aside over waxed paper.
- In a clean bowl, beat 1 1/2 cups egg whites until foamy.
- Add 1 1/2 teaspoons cream of tartar and continue beating until soft peaks form.
- Gradually add the 1 cup of sugar while beating until stiff peaks form.
- Mix in 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla and 1 teaspoon almond flavoring.
- Gently fold in the flour mixture in small portions until fully incorporated.
- Pour batter into an ungreased angel food cake pan.
- Bake in preheated oven for approximately 35 minutes or until the top is golden and a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Invert the pan and let the cake cool completely before removing.
