Ingredients

  • 3 c. all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 4 Tbsp. dry milk
  • 4 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1 pkg. yeast
  • 1 c. lukewarm water
  • 6 Tbsp. corn oil
  • 1 egg

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, add sugar to lukewarm water.
  2. Sprinkle yeast on top.
  3. Let this stand for 15 to 20 minutes.
  4. In a large bowl, combine flour, salt, dry milk, and sugar.
  5. Add the yeast mixture, corn oil, and beaten egg to the dry ingredients.
  6. Mix until a soft dough forms.
  7. Knead the dough on a floured surface until smooth and elastic, about 8-10 minutes.
  8. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place until doubled in size, about 1 hour.
  9. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  10. Punch down the dough and divide into 12 equal portions.
  11. Shape each portion into a ball and place on a greased baking sheet.
  12. Cover and let rise until puffy, about 30 minutes.
  13. Bake in the preheated oven for 15 minutes or until golden brown.
  14. Remove from oven and cool slightly before serving.
