Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter or margarine
  • 1 cup packed dark brown sugar
  • 11.5 oz milk chocolate chips
  • 0.5 cup chopped pecans or walnuts
  • 36 saltine crackers

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan, over medium-high heat, blend butter and brown sugar.
  2. Bring to a boil and cook for 4 minutes.
  3. Line a 10 x 15-inch jelly roll pan with foil and lightly butter.
  4. Arrange a single layer of saltine crackers on the foil close together.
  5. Pour the butter mixture over the crackers, spreading evenly.
  6. Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 5 minutes.
  7. Immediately sprinkle chocolate chips on top and let sit until softened.
  8. Spread the melted chocolate evenly over the crackers.
  9. Sprinkle with chopped pecans or walnuts.
  10. Refrigerate until cool, then break into pieces.
