Ingredients

  • 1 lb butter
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 6 eggs
  • 4 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 lb candied cherries
  • 1/2 lb candied pineapple
  • 1 lb pecans
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla

Instructions

  1. Cream butter and sugar until fluffy.
  2. Add beaten eggs to the mixture.
  3. Add 3 cups of sifted flour with baking powder and salt, mix well.
  4. Mix remaining flour with candied cherries, candied pineapple, and broken nuts.
  5. Stir the flour mixture into the batter.
  6. Add vanilla extract and mix.
  7. Pour batter into a greased and wax paper-lined tube pan.
  8. Bake at 250°F (121°C) for 3 hours.
  9. Let the cake cool in the pan before removing.
