- Fit pie crust into a 10-inch tart pan according to package directions.
- Trim any excess pastry along edges.
- Generously prick bottom and sides of pastry with a fork.
- Bake at 400°F for 5 minutes.
- Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese evenly into the pastry shell and top with basil to cover.
- Arrange tomato slices on top of the cheese layer; brush with olive oil and sprinkle with salt and pepper.
- Place the tart on a baking sheet on the lower rack of the oven.
- Bake at 400°F for 35 to 40 minutes.
- Remove from oven and sprinkle with remaining basil.
- Let stand for 5 minutes before serving.
