Ingredients

  • 4 cups okra, sliced, washed, and slightly drained
  • 1 onion
  • 1 large ripe tomato
  • 1 large bell pepper
  • 1 tablespoon flour
  • 1/2 cup cornmeal

Instructions

  1. Chop the tomato, bell pepper, and onion into medium bite-sized pieces and set aside in a bowl.
  2. Mix the cornmeal and flour thoroughly and place in a plastic bag.
  3. Drop the sliced okra into the bag and shake until well coated.
  4. Fry the coated okra slowly in hot grease until golden brown and done.
  5. Toss the fried okra with the chopped vegetables and serve immediately.
