Ingredients

  • 16 oz. can crushed tomatoes
  • 1 green pepper
  • 3 Tbsp. olive oil
  • 2 c. Progresso Italian style bread crumbs
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 tsp. baking soda
  • salt

Instructions

  1. Mix all ingredients except bread crumbs in a large bowl.
  2. Add just enough bread crumbs to make the mixture stiff enough to drop by tablespoonfuls into hot oil.
  3. Fry the cakes until browned on both sides.
  4. Serve hot.
