Ingredients

  • 4 c. sugar
  • 4 c. white vinegar
  • 1/4 c. canning salt
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp. mustard seed
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp. turmeric
  • 4 large onions

Instructions

  1. Bring the sugar, vinegar, canning salt, mustard seed, and turmeric to a boil.
  2. Slice the onions and add them to the boiling mixture.
  3. Pour the hot mixture into gallon jugs or jars.
  4. Refrigerate and let sit for 2 to 3 days before serving.
