Frioles(Beans)

Instructions
- Rinse and pick over the dried pinto beans, then place them in a large stock pot. Add enough cold water to cover the beans.
- Add half of the chopped onions, half of the minced garlic, bay leaves, and crushed red pepper to the pot.
- Cover and bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 1 hour.
- Add 4 tablespoons of salad oil and salt, stirring to mix well.
- Cover and continue cooking until the beans are soft, adding more water as necessary.
- Uncover and cook for another 30 minutes.
