Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup plus 3 tablespoons reduced-calorie margarine
  • 1 1/3 cups sugar
  • 8 egg whites
  • 1/2 cup nonfat sour cream
  • 1/3 cup evaporated skim milk
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 1/3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2/3 cup unsweetened cocoa
  • vegetable cooking spray
  • chocolate frosting

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Beat margarine at medium speed of an electric mixer until fluffy.
  3. Gradually add sugar and beat well.
  4. Add egg whites, sour cream, milk, and vanilla extract; mix until smooth.
  5. In a small bowl, combine flour, baking powder, salt, and cocoa.
  6. Add dry ingredients to wet ingredients and mix until just combined.
  7. Pour batter into a 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan coated with vegetable cooking spray.
  8. Bake for 25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  9. Cool on a wire rack.
  10. Spread chocolate frosting over cooled brownies.
  11. Cut into squares and serve.
