A crunchy fruit dessert featuring a sweet oat and brown sugar topping, perfect for showcasing fruit pie fillings and ideal for casual gatherings or family dinners.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 3/4 cup quick oats
  • 1 stick oleo
  • 1/2 teaspoon soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 can fruit pie filling

Instructions

  1. Mix all ingredients except fruit pie filling together.
  2. Spread half of the mixture in the bottom of a baking dish.
  3. Spread one can of fruit pie filling over this layer.
  4. Spread the remaining mixture over the fruit filling.
  5. Bake at 350°F until the topping is crunchy and brown.
  6. Serve warm, with optional topping, especially good with cherry pie filling.
