- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Grease a 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan.
- Mix together the soft margarine and brown sugar until well combined.
- Add flour, salt, and baking soda to the sugar mixture; stir well.
- Stir in oats and mix until the consistency resembles cookie dough.
- Pat half of the cookie dough evenly into the bottom of the prepared pan.
- Spread the fruit filling evenly over the layer of dough.
- Crumble the remaining dough evenly over the fruit filling.
- Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, or until golden brown.
- Allow to cool slightly before cutting into bars and serving.
