Ingredients

  • 2 cans (8 1/4 oz.) crushed pineapple
  • 3 cups blueberries or other berries
  • 1/2 cup sugar, divided
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1 box (18 1/4 oz.) yellow cake mix
  • 1/2 cup melted butter

Instructions

  1. Spread the crushed pineapple evenly over the bottom of a lightly greased 13 x 9-inch pan.
  2. Toss the berries with 1/4 cup of sugar and lemon juice.
  3. Layer the berry mixture over the pineapple in the pan.
  4. Sprinkle the dry yellow cake mix evenly over the fruit layer.
  5. Pour the melted butter over the cake mix.
  6. Drizzle the remaining sugar over the top.
  7. Bake at 350°F for 50 to 60 minutes.
  8. After 20 minutes of baking, cut through to the bottom of the dish to allow juices to rise to the top.
