Ingredients

  • 1 c. butter, margarine or buttery Crisco
  • 1 c. granulated sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
  • 3 c. flour
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • food colors (yellow, green, red)
  • 1 1/2 tsp. lemon peel, grated
  • 1 1/2 tsp. orange peel, grated
  • 1 1/2 tsp. lime peel, grated

Instructions

  1. Mix thoroughly butter, sugar, eggs, and vanilla.
  2. Blend in flour and salt.
  3. Divide dough into 4 equal parts.
  4. To one part, work in a few drops of yellow food color and lemon peel.
  5. To another part, work in green food color and lime peel.
  6. To another, work in orange food color and orange peel.
  7. Leave remaining part plain.
  8. Cover and chill for 1 hour.
