Ingredients

  • 1/2 c. plus 2 tsp. butter
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 eggs
  • 6 Tbsp. cocoa
  • 3/4 c. all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 c. pecans

Instructions

  1. Melt butter in a medium saucepan.
  2. Combine sugar and cocoa in a bowl.
  3. Add the sugar and cocoa mixture to the melted butter.
  4. Blend in eggs, one at a time, then add vanilla.
  5. Stir in flour and pecans, if using.
  6. Spread the batter in a greased 8 x 8 x 2-inch pan.
  7. Bake at 350°F for 30 minutes, being careful not to overbake.
  8. Cool and cut into 16 squares.
  9. Sprinkle with confectioners sugar for an extra touch.
