Ingredients
- 1 lb. dry pinto beans
- 1 large onion, chopped ⓘ
- 3 garlic cloves, minced ⓘ
- 1 can chopped green chiles ⓘ
- 1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce ⓘ
- 4 heaping Tbsp. chili powder ⓘ
- 1 heaping Tbsp. ground cumin ⓘ
- 1 heaping tsp. chili pepper ⓘ
- salt to taste ⓘ
- 4 heaping Tbsp. cornstarch or masa flour ⓘ
- 3 cans beef broth ⓘ
- 2 lb. ground beef ⓘ
Instructions
- Cook the dry pinto beans according to the package instructions.
- When the beans are half done, pour off the water.
- Continue cooking the beans with the beef broth, covering the pot about 1 inch above the beans, topping off with water if necessary.
