Ingredients

  • 8 oz sour cream
  • 8 oz cream cheese
  • 2 tsp garlic salt
  • 1/2 tsp pepper
  • 1/4 tsp butter
  • 4 1/2 lbs peeled potatoes

Instructions

  1. Cook peeled potatoes until tender, then mash them.
  2. Add sour cream, cream cheese, garlic salt, and pepper to the mashed potatoes and mix well.
  3. Butter a baking dish and pour the mashed potato mixture into it.
  4. Add 2 or 3 pats of butter on top of the mashed potatoes.
  5. Cover and refrigerate for 2 to 3 days.
  6. When ready to serve, preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
  7. Bake the mashed potatoes in the oven for 40 to 60 minutes until heated through and golden on top.
