Ingredients

  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 1 egg
  • 1 to 2 tsp. caraway seed
  • 1/2 c. bread crumbs
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 cans tomato soup
  • 1 can tomato sauce
  • 1 can water
  • flour
  • 1 large cabbage

Instructions

  1. Mix ground beef, onion, egg, bread crumbs, salt and pepper. In a saucepan, mix tomato soup, water, sauce, caraway seed and flour to thicken. Simmer. Put the whole head of cabbage in a large pot half filled with water.
  2. Boil until crisp-tender. Drain and peel away leaves.
  3. Spread leaved open and roll meat into cabbage rolls.
  4. Place in pan and pour sauce over rolls.
  5. Bake at 350° for 1 1/2 hours.
