Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • dash of pepper
  • 1 cup sifted flour
  • 4 eggs
  • 3 ounces shredded Swiss cheese

Instructions

  1. Combine 1 cup of water, butter, salt, and pepper in a saucepan and bring to a boil.
  2. Add the sifted flour all at once and stir until the mixture leaves the sides of the pan.
  3. Remove from heat and beat to cool the mixture for about 2 minutes.
  4. Add eggs one at a time, beating after each addition until the mixture has a sheen.
  5. Stir in the shredded Swiss cheese.
  6. Spoon the mixture into a buttered pan in the shape of a circle.
  7. Bake at 375°F for 40 minutes or until puffed and golden.
  8. Serve while warm.
