- Combine 1 cup of water, butter, salt, and pepper in a saucepan and bring to a boil.
- Add the sifted flour all at once and stir until the mixture leaves the sides of the pan.
- Remove from heat and beat to cool the mixture for about 2 minutes.
- Add eggs one at a time, beating after each addition until the mixture has a sheen.
- Stir in the shredded Swiss cheese.
- Spoon the mixture into a buttered pan in the shape of a circle.
- Bake at 375°F for 40 minutes or until puffed and golden.
- Serve while warm.
