Ingredients

  • 3 to 4 lb. Boston butt
  • 1 (3 to 4 lb.) chicken
  • 3 lb. lean ground beef
  • 1 gal. whole tomatoes
  • 1 gal. creamed corn
  • 2 large onions
  • ½ (10 oz.) bottle Worcestershire sauce
  • ½ oz. Tabasco sauce
  • ½ gal. catsup
  • 3 cups chicken broth
  • salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Bake the Boston butt slow on low heat until done.
  2. Boil the chicken in about 2½ cups of water, then save the broth, bone the chicken, and grind all meat and vegetables together.
  3. Combine all other ingredients, except seasoning, and bring to a boil.
  4. Add raw ground beef to the mixture.
  5. Cook on low heat until the ground beef is done, stirring constantly to prevent sticking.
  6. Add salt and Worcestershire sauce, Tabasco sauce, catsup, and chicken broth to season the stew.
  7. Simmer until flavors meld and stew thickens.
