Ingredients

  • 2 Tbsp. minced onion
  • 1 c. soft bread crumbs
  • 1 Tbsp. butter
  • 1/2 to 3/4 c. milk
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1/2 c. chili sauce or catsup
  • 1 c. dairy sour cream

Instructions

  1. Cook minced onion in butter until yellow and transparent on low heat.
  2. Pour milk over bread crumbs and allow to stand until milk has been absorbed.
  3. Beat the mixture with a fork until smooth.
  4. Add ground beef and onion mixture, then salt, and mix only until blended.
  5. Form into small meatballs.
  6. Brown the meatballs in a 10-inch skillet without adding extra fat.
  7. Combine sour cream and chili sauce in a bowl.
  8. Pour the sauce mixture over the cooked meatballs.
  9. Reduce heat and simmer gently for 10 minutes, turning meatballs once or twice during cooking.
