- Melt margarine in a saucepan.
- Saute onion slices until golden, then add 1/4 cup water.
- Add cayenne and turmeric to taste.
- Cut tomato into pieces and add to the pan to make a sauce.
- Cook until the mixture browns and grease separates.
- Add chicken pieces and garlic, and cook until lightly browned.
- Pour in 1 1/2 cups water and cook until the chicken is tender and brown.
- Add a pinch of cinnamon, powdered cloves, and fresh black pepper, then cook for a few more minutes.
- Serve hot with rice.
