Ingredients

  • 4 sticks margarine
  • 3 cups plain flour
  • 2 1/4 cups white sugar
  • 8 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 pound candied pineapple
  • 1 pound candied cherries
  • 1/4 pound orange peel
  • 1/4 pound lemon peel
  • 1 pound pecans
  • 1 pound white raisins
  • 1/4 pound almonds
  • 1/4 cup rum

Instructions

  1. Mix all ingredients together in a large bowl.
  2. Line an angel food cake pan with waxed paper.
  3. Pour the batter into the prepared pan.
  4. Put 1/2 gallon of water in a pressure cooker and cook at 12 pounds pressure for 1 1/2 hours.
  5. Bake the cake in a 225°F oven for 25 minutes.
  6. Store in a cool place for at least 2 weeks before serving.
